Popular STEM Magazine OYLA Gets Creative With School Subscriptions

Exact Editions is pleased to announce a new publishing partnership with STEM magazine OYLA, where digital subscriptions will now be available for individuals and institutions (i.e. schools, colleges, libraries).

Targeted for readers aged 12 and over, OYLA aims to make STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) subjects open, accessible, and enjoyable for all young students, as the magazine delves into complex ideas with clear language and imaginative graphics.

Students and subscribers will be able to read a modern archive of recent magazine issues, as well as new issues as they are published through Exact Editions’ print-replica, fully-searchable digital platform.

OYLA’s core mission of educational accessibility is complemented by many aspects of the Exact Editions platform. The clear print-replica display allows for a distraction-free digital experience of the magazine and there are a number of features (such as plaintext extraction and read-aloud technology) that can allow students with accessibility requirements to enjoy the magazine.

Not only this, but the option for schools and libraries to purchase IP-authenticated access can help digitally distribute the magazine to regions which might struggle to consistently receive the printed edition. This latter aspect will allow OYLA to connect to new audiences and inspire even more young students to be excited about STEM subjects.

Editor-in-chief of OYLA, Gamzat Biyarov, commented: “Exact Editions have offered an intuitive, engaging platform to host digital magazine editions for more than two decades. We’ve been impressed by the ease in which magazine subscriptions can be sold as high-value site-licenses to educational institutions.”

Managing Director of Exact Editions, Daryl Rayner said: “OYLA is an important voice in educational publishing. Making STEM subjects accessible and enjoyable for young students is a mission the Exact Editions platform can effectively complement. We look forward to maximising publisher revenues through our experience in school and library subscription markets.”
