Exact Editions Marks International Digital Preservation Day 2017 with Archive Showcase

LONDON, 30th November 2017

30th November 2017 marks the first annual Digital Preservation Day as organised by the Digital Preservation Coalition, on this day the Exact Editions and the Digital Preservation Coalition are celebrating the value and cultural importance of preserving digital content.

Digital Preservation Day draws together individuals and institutions from around the world to celebrate collection preservation, access, and the cultural understanding that comes from preserving digital materials. In the spirit of Digital Preservation Day, to celebrate and highlight the value of magazine preservation, 12 of Exact Editions’ most ambitious digital archiving projects have been opened up to the public. Showcasing digital magazine preservation and the incredible cultural resource that such archives offer.

Accessible via the Exact Editions website, 12 significant archive preservation projects have ensured that 3 notable issues from each publications’ past and present are open to the public for Digital Preservation Day and the 30 days following. Individuals and institutions around the world are able to explore 36 issues from some of the world’s most significant magazine archives, preserved via the Exact Editions digital platform.

Featured content includes the a range of issues from symbolic publications such as Granta, Dazed, Gramophone and more. Over 100 years of cultural history is showcased via the preservation of magazine issues on topics including Politics, Music, Art, Literature and Ecology, open for all at the click of a button.
