Exact Editions Digital Subscriptions See Steep Rise Over Last Quarter
Digital publishing company Exact Editions has seen a steep rise in digital subscriptions since lockdown restrictions were introduced to combat the global Covid-19 pandemic.
A significant number of the platform’s partners have seen over 50% growth in subscriptions in the period from March and May, compared to the previous quarter from December to February. Total sales of best-selling title Dazed, along with sister titles AnOther Man and AnOther Magazine, increased by an average of 102% in the same period.
Exact Editions hosts digital subscriptions to hundreds of titles with subjects ranging from the academic realms of art, literature and current affairs to the more niche enthusiast spheres of railway modelling and cake decorating. Offering an intuitive, easy-to-use interface and a comprehensive search function that allows easy navigation of archives, the platform lends itself to the extensive reading of special interest content that time in quarantine may have prompted.

Daryl Rayner, Managing Director of Exact Editions, said: “We believe that the increase is due to a number of reasons: the current disruption affecting print publications; the platform’s search function that allows for extensive and targeted reading; and the availability of deep and varied archives. The pandemic has highlighted the importance of digital resources and we’re working with publishing partners to ensure that digital options are easily accessible during this unprecedented time.”
