British Journal of Photography Launches Digital Edition for Institutions and Subscribers

Leading photography magazine, British Journal of Photography, has launched a digital edition. In partnership with publishing platform Exact Editions, the magazine is available for British Journal of Photography's own members and subscribers, as well as libraries and institutions across the world.

Subscribers will be able to access a digital archive that goes back to 2020 as well as new issues as they are published. The archive contains rich, searchable content that preserves the visual impact of the publication's acclaimed photography and design.

All issues are hosted through Exact Editions' signature user experience - hosting magazine issues precisely as published in print, retaining all elements in a clean, distraction-free, popup-free display. This format  is especially effective for British Journal of Photography's high-quality presentation of visually arresting photographic work.

As the world's longest-running photography publication, the magazine is held in high regard by both practitioners and students of photography. Considering Exact Editions' experience selling magazines to libraries and institutions across the world, British Journal of Photography's excellent reputation and commitment to engaging with aspiring photographers can be maximised - resulting in increased digital reach for the publisher.

Libraries can request a free trial subscription.

Tom Royal, COO of 1854 Media, commented: “British Journal of Photography is very excited to be joining the Exact Editions platform. We believe that its highly-searchable browser-based experience will be ideal for students of photography in particular, and as such we’re very pleased to be able to offer this new service to academic institutions and libraries. The White Labelling solution has also enabled us to make all the issues in the catalogue available to our subscribers, giving them a new and convenient way to read the magazine, alongside our printed product and existing app editions.”

Daryl Rayner, Managing Director of Exact Editions, commented:   “The Exact Editions platform was designed for visually stunning magazines such as British Journal of Photography in mind. Exact Editions are proud to offer a seamless solution for the publisher’s subscribers to access back issues and are pleased to be trusted as a vendor for library subscriptions. This is likely to be a promising endeavour considering the magazine’s esteemed reputation and Exact Editions’ experience with other photography titles.
