American Philosophical Association & Exact Editions Form Partnership For New Digital Book Project

The Blog of the American Philosophical Association (APA) and Exact Editions are pleased to announce that they are partnering on a pioneering new digital project involving several academic publishing houses. The new project comprises the digitisation of philosophy books written by APA authors and the posting of time-limited links to the complete books online through Exact Editions’ innovative Reading Room technology.

The books’ digital editions will be linked directly from the APA blog and accessible in their entirety for the specified period. Each title benefits from a comprehensive search function and intuitive navigation tools built into the web reader that allow for seamless reading and browsing. The Blog will showcase new books on a regular basis, with the first set including titles by J. David Velleman, Catherine Wilson and Ingrid Robeyns.

The APA Blog can be found here:

Nathan Eckstrand, Editor-In-Chief of the APA, commented: “We believe this collaboration will help readers discover new philosophical research relevant to their interests and work. We hope that more authors will consider making their texts available in this fashion.”

Daryl Rayner, Managing Director of Exact Editions, said: “We’re very pleased to be working with the APA on this project. The Reading Room technology is an ideal showcasing tool for academic books and will certainly encourage interaction from the Blog’s dedicated readers.”
