DIGITAL BANIPAL – a unique archive of modern literature from the Arab world, translated into English

Banipal magazine’s last issue of 2022 is No 75, marking the culmination of 25 years translating the contemporary, modern literature of the Arab world and publishing it three times a year. For 25 years Banipal has thrown its window on the Arab literary scene wide open. However, No 75 will mark the end of Banipal magazine in its present form – print and digital. No. 75 will be the last issue. Issues 1 to 75 will then form a unique and ongoing static resource for institutions and libraries, but unfortunately that resource will not be available for individual digital subscribers like yourself. As a current digital subscriber, you will continue to receive access to the archive including Banipal 75 – published in November this year – to the end of your subscription period. At the end of that period, we are pleased to offer you a further six months of free, extended access to the complete and fullysearchable archive. Banipal will continue with its other activities, publishing literary works translated from Arabic in book and electronic formats (www.banipal.co.uk), supporting the Banipal Trust for Arab Literature (www.banipaltrust.org.uk) and the Saif Ghobash Banipal Prize for Arabic Literary Translation.
